Nicol Ayers is a native of Norwalk CT with over 20 years of experience in the Human Services/Youth Service fields. She attended the University of Connecticut, Storrs and finished her degree at Sacred Heart University, Fairfield where she obtained a Bachelors of Science in Political Science with a Minor in Psychology. Other credentials include a MPA from Sacred Heart University and she is currently obtaining a PhD in Public Administration from Northcentral University.
As the SOAR Benefits Liaison for Fairfield County she oversaw the training of individuals in community-based agencies to assist clients with obtaining both state and federal benefits. Nicol received extensive training while she worked for a DCF ran residential facility in adolescent behavior and treatment programs, family reunification, life skills development and mental health assessments. Prior to that she worked as the Youth Service Coordinator for NEON Inc where she facilitated year round programming for school age children.
Nicol is active in local politics and sits on different boards throughout the City of Norwalk. She was elected to the Common Council for the City of Norwalk. She is also the director of a Christian based youth outreach ministry as well.
